Reading In Cyberspace!

Reading in cyberspace can be a lot of fun and hassle free. But there are serious danger on the internet. For example breaking the law, copyright infrigement. Google has many competetors, but google's impact is a lot greater. Librarians jobs can be threatend and yes I would be interested in trying this service. Here are my thoughts about this service.

Yes the copyright infrigrmement is illegal. It leads to serious financial punishment. Many univerisity and college students have been targeted. It is considered as breaking the law.
I think google's competetors, like yahoo will try to make their website like google's or better. Some websites have music and music video's like google does but google is still better. Goolgle talks about books, and it also has loads of information about many different things. If you have a question or concern about something you can easily do some research on it on google. You can't do that on yahoo. The closest website to google would probably be , www.youtube.com.

Google's impact on the internet is a rather big one. Many people use google, kids, teenagers, adults, even seniors. Kids use it to look up books, games and fun things. Teenagers use it for research on projects and homework. They also use it to look up books, music and videos and for fun like email. Adults and seniors use it for work purposes or for fun as well to entertain themselves and find family and anything else they enjoy like perhaps books. Google is a big impact on many many people all around the world today.

I think this will be a threat for librarians. People use to go to the library to find a book, or ask questions about a book. But now google was invented, people dont really have the need to go the librariy anymore. If you have a question about a book you can easily find the answer on google. You can also find the book on google, you can read a brief synopsis about the book. You can even read the book or buy it. There really isn't much of a need to visit a library anymore.

Yes i would be interested in the service. I am a teenager and just like any normal teenager I would benifit from this service a lot. For homework , music, books, entertainment, and anything else. I have already tried it and it has been a tremendous help. Anybody can benifit from this service.

In the end the copyright infrigement will always be illegal and punished by the law. Many people will try to outshine google. Google will always have a big impact on the internet. This website will be a threat to many librarians jobs. It will always be a big help nad a great service. Google will be a great impact on many people all over the world of all ages, technology is great.

Are Wii The Children of the Future?

We have all played a video game at least once when we were younger. It has revolutionized the way we play video games. Some people really enjoyed playing games others didn’t. But as the years went on video games have changed for the better. A few new generations have been introduced to the, “Nintendo Wii”. I think that there are advantages and disadvantages to the new Nintendo Wii.

The first Nintendo that was introduced looked like a bulky box with two playing controls attached to it by cords. It was pretty big and bulky, but still a lot of fun for some people. But others didn’t like it they thought it was a hassle to put together. But every couple of years Nintendo has successfully changed for the better. New changes, for example; size, colour, new games, and plenty of new features have helped Nintendo companies successfully sell their product.

A few new group of generations have been introduced to the Nintendo Wii. In the past mainly only young children would play Nintendo. But now young children, teenagers, adults and even seniors play Nintendo Wii. Seniors are stereotyped as only playing chess and having tea time. But now that has been changed thanks to the Nintendo Wii.

There are still a few advantages and disadvantages to the Nintendo Wii. One advantage is that now parents and grandparents can easily bond with their children and grandchildren. Another advantage is that now its hassle fee, easy to start, and very fun to play with, a lot better than the first Nintendo. You don’t have to worry about simple things anymore , for example if the cord is to short . But there are still disadvantages like, people can easily become obese because since the remote is cordless you can be sitting down while you play. Since people enjoy playing so much, people actually stay inside and literally play all day and get no exercise. It can lead to serious health problems. Another disadvantage is that the price of the Nintendo Wii is pretty high. The Nintendo Wii is approximately $400.00. Not everybody has that kind of money. Money doesn’t grow overnight on trees.

Overall Wii are the children of the future. Many young people enjoy playing Nintendo Wii. Teenagers these days have many new ideas, they will grow up to only make technology like the Nintendo even better. Personally I had the chance to play Nintendo Wii , I really enjoyed playing. It was enjoyable, simple, and quick to set up. I would play again if I had the chance.

iPod Class To Go

There has been a new experiment being conducted in some universities. It's called: "iPod Classroom", by some people. You can get your seminars from school on your iPod. There are good advantages to this, for example it makes life quick and easier for students. It makes teachers jobs easier. Unfortunately there are disadvantages to this as well. For example not everyone has or can afford an iPod. It can easily be stolen. This system also depends on the responsibilty of the students. Personally, I think it would be an advantage.



With the iPod seminars, teachers are automatically asked to record all of their seminars to put them on eclass. With this system, students who have two seminars scheduled for the same time could just go to one seminar, then later, go on eclass and download the
seminar they've missed.This doesnt necessarily mean that you dont have to go to your seminars. It is intended to help you with a seminar you have missed due to unforseen circumstances. It is also there to help you if you need to go back to the seminar because you forgot something. Going to seminars if and when you can is still very important.



It's also easier for teachers, as with this system, teachers have no need to repeat their seminars to the ones who've missed it.



As good as the iPod seminars system is, it unfortunately has a bad side to it. Not all students can afford an iPod to download the seminar. Not all students can afford a computer to go to eclass, therefore bringing us back to the way it already is now. For students in possession of an iPod must be careful are all times as it's easier to steal iPods.



In conclusion, I think that iPod seminars is an advantage and a disadvantage. The system has been set up to make it easier for them, so it is up to them to decide if the new iPod seminars program is either a good idea or a bad idea.

With the GOOD Comes the Bad

There are many good and bad things about technology, such as having the ability to talk to family and friends that live around the world. When you have a school project to do you do not have to go all the way to library to do your research, you can do it from the comfort of your own home and a little friend called the Internet. The Internet and computers provide many people with jobs as well as making other ones easier and more efficient such as, graphic designers, computer repairmen and the many employees of big computer companies like Microsoft.
Even as good as it sounds there are bad sides to technology. Children who use the Internet can sometimes find their way into talking to a stranger they don't even know and not think anything of it. Cyber predators are becoming more and more successful as technology developers because they find new ways to get to their victims, usually young children. Another bad side of technology is inappropriate websites and pop-ups that can be harmful for young children to see.
Last but not least, computer viruses can destroy important work and files on your computer as well as giving the sender a chance at getting hold of some personal information such as bank statements, address, family name, and phone numbers which in the wrong hands can cause a lot of trouble.
Overall, technology can be a good thing but it can also be a bad thing. But I think that if your careful and aware of what your doing bad things are less likely to happen. all the benefits overcomes the bad possibilities.

What Makes YOU Special? : The Genographic Project

Do you know your families origin? Nobody really knows that is why a new research project was started. It is called," The Genographic Project". Everyone wants to know where they originated from sometime in their life. I think this project is a good idea for a few reasons. You can put a stop to your curiosity. You will learn new interesting things. It will help your family now and in the future. There’s really no harm in trying.

Do you always nag your parents, asking them for your family history? Well now you won’t have to because you can easily find out yourself by doing this project. You won’t have to hear some of your grandparents or parents long boring stories. You can learn about your family when you think it’s most convenient for you with this easy and convenient project. By doing this on your own you might even find out interesting facts about your family’s past. You might even find out something your parents never knew, for example they could have been related to someone famous from the past. It can also help to know your family's history for example if you had a family tree project. This would be a very big help. It can also help the rest of the family, for example you can regain contact with lost family, or meet the family you never knew you had. It’s quick, convenient and confidential.

Overall I think doing this project would be a good idea for a few reasons. It will stop your curiosity. You will learn new and interesting things. It will help you and your family now and in the future. There’s no harm in trying this project. It’s safe and reliable, if safety is what you are afraid of. Personally with the permission of my parent I would try this project. I know a few other people that would like to as well.

When War meets Video Games

Grade 10 Journal Entry Question #3

Video games are so popular now because of all the different varieties of video games. War games are so popular because of the effect it has on children and teenagers. What they see on television is an influence and thinks they should play these games because they are fun. Personally, games are just games though this might be a bad influence this makes it more realistic for teenagers to see what is happening in our society. Games such as Call of Duty and Socom all deal with the fight against terrorism and war. Though these are just video games people should not have the influence on imitating what these games are doing.

Yes I think war video games desensitize people to war. They portray war as this cool, fun thing when really it's not.

I think war video games aren't good. They encourage war, and make killing people seem fun. Really war is not fun, it is the total opposite. In a real war you must take many things into consideration and thought. You must think about what the weather is like, how much food you have and need, what weapons you need to carry, how you need to dress to hide from your enemies but not your friends, what you need to take with you in case of emergency's, if you have enough ammunition for your weapons.
